I had the accusation of 'craft' thrown at me often enough, (at the School of Art 'decorative' is almost a swear word) but I think that's what I wanted. People look at my work and see writing, beautiful writing. From a distance the scrolls look painted. One of the other sculpture students commented that 'it's amazing that something so delicate can come out of such a brutal process'.
