Why are we
ashamed of dreaming of a better world
why are we
afraid of living today
loving today
changing today
I do not hope
to own a bigger house
a nicer car
or a beautiful new face
but I do hope the world can learn to love itself better
I can learn to love you better
I can learn to love me better
this is not impossible
it is the best kind of practicality.
If I do not know you
how can I know myself?
If I can not talk to you
how can I talk to myself?
If I can not be honest with you
how can I be honest with myself?
We are larger than ourselves
and we are complete.
